The Best Sesame Shrimp Recipe

This crispy sesame shrimp is coated in a delicious Asian-style sauce. It's easy to make during the week if you put it over rice.  

– 16 ounces frozen breaded shrimp – 1 teaspoon vegetable oil – 1 teaspoon minced garlic – ¼ cup honey – ¼ cup soy sauce low sodium – 2 tablespoons ketchup – 3 tablespoons brown sugar – 2 tablespoons rice vinegar – 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil – 2 teaspoons corn starch – 1 tablespoon sesame seed – 2 tablespoons green onions sliced – cooking spray


Pre-heat the oven and spray a sheet pan. Put breaded shrimp on the pan. Follow package instructions to bake popcorn shrimp.  


Step 1

While the shrimp bake, create the sauce. Bowl together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch.  

Step 2

In a small pan, heat oil on medium. Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds. Add the honey mixture and simmer. Cook 3–4 minutes until thickened.  

Step 3

Take shrimp out of the oven. Toss shrimp in sauce to cover evenly. Top shrimp with sesame seeds and green onions and serve.
