Testy Ham With Pineapple And Cherries Recipe

This classic gammon with pineapple and cherries has a hidden ingredient that makes it great. The BEST holiday gammon!

– 1 10 lb bone in smoked ham – 1 20 ounce can pineapple slices in syrup drain and reserve syrup – 10 maraschino cherrie – 3 tablespoons whole clove – 1/2 cup packed brown sugar – 1 can lemon lime soda

Warm the oven up to 375 degrees. Put the ham in a big baking dish. Mix the brown sugar, pineapple syrup, and lemon lime soda in a small bowl with a whisk. Set this bowl away.

Cut a diamond shape into the top of the ham with a knife, making cuts about 1/2 inch deep. In each ring, put a clove.

Cover the ham with the sauce. Place the pineapple slices around the outside of the ham and use toothpicks to hold them in place.

Put a cherry in the middle of each pineapple ring and use toothpicks to hold it in place. Put foil over it and bake for an hour.

Take off the foil and bake for another 40 minutes, basting every now and then with the glaze from the pan's bottom. Keep a close eye on the cherries and pineapple to make sure they don't burn.

Take it out of the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before cutting it. Take out the cloves and toothpicks before serving.
