Muesli solves it! Muesli is Swiss-made oat cereal. Add milk and possibly fresh fruit. It freezes well for six months.  

– 4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats  – 1 cup slivered almond – 1 cup large, unsweetened coconut flakes or shredded unsweetened coconut – ½ cup pepitas (green pumpkin seeds) – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – ½ teaspoon fine salt – Optional: Up to 2 tablespoons maple syrup – 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract – ½ cup chopped dried cranberries or cherrie – 1 cup hemp heart


Heat the oven to 350°F. Cover a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment.  


Step 1

Mix oats, almonds, coconut, pepitas, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Add maple syrup and vanilla extract. Mix well.  

Step 2

Toss mixture on a baking sheet and bake 13–15 minutes until oats and coconut flakes are lightly browned and aromatic.  

Step 3

Stir in the dried cranberries and hemp hearts when the muesli cools to room temperature.  

Step 4

Squeeze air from cooled muesli and store in a freezer bag. Stir before serving.   

Step 5

Muesli lasts 1 month at room temperature and 6 months in the freezer.
