Delicious Cherry Almond Crumble Recipe

Juicy fresh cherries and a buttery oat crumble make a summer dessert perfect for serving warm with ice cream.

For the cherry filling: – 2 pounds sweet cherries, pitted – 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar – 1 Tablespoon flour – Squeeze of fresh orange or lime juice, optional – 1 teaspoon vanilla For the crumble: – 1 cup flour – ¾ cup brown sugar – ¾ cup old fashioned rolled oat – ¾ cup sliced almonds, chopped – ¾ teaspoon Kosher salt – 8 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted


Prep. Preheat oven to 350. Prepare an 11 x 7 or 9-inch square baking pan. Prepare fruit filling. Mix cherries, sugar, flour, vanilla, and citrus juice in baking dish.


Step 1

Prepare crumble. In another basin, mix flour, brown sugar, oats, almonds, and salt. Pour melted butter over and mix to moisten all dry ingredients.

Step 2

Crumble on top. Make different-sized crumbles by pinching with your fingers. Sprinkle evenly over fruit filling.

Step 3

Bake. Bake the crumble till brown and bubbling, 40–45 minutes. Check crumble at 35 minutes.

Step 4

If well-browned, loosely cover the crumble with foil for the remaining bake time. Optional: heated crumble with ice cream.
