Best Crab Rangoon Recipe 

Real crab flesh, cream cheese, and seasonings are wrapped into wontons and baked to golden brown perfection in this crab rangoon recipe. You may bake or fried crab rangoon for restaurant-quality results!  

– 8 ounces crab meat or chopped imitation crab – 8 ounces cream cheese softened – 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder – 3 tablespoons sliced green onions plus more for garnish – 20 wonton wrapper – 1 egg beaten – oil for frying – dipping sauce for serving


Bowl the crab meat, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and green onions. Mix well.  


Step 1

Place 2 teaspoons of crab mixture in the centre of a flat wonton wrapper. Brush egg on wonton edges.  

Step 2

Pinch two opposite corners in the wonton's centre. Pinch the other two corners to make a bundle.  

Step 3

Repeat with remaining wontons and crab mixture until full. A deep pan with 4 inches of oil should reach 350 degrees F.  

Step 4

Make sure 5-6 wontons brown evenly by rotating them as needed. The process should take 3-5 minutes.   

Step 5

Refry remaining wontons and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with your preferred dipping sauce and additional sliced green onions.
