Best Classic Stuffed Shells Recipe

Three varieties of cheese are loaded into these shells, coated in marinara sauce and additional cheese, then baked until golden brown. Classic comfort dish for a crowd!  

INGREDIENTS

– 24 jumbo pasta shells cooked according to package direction – 15 ounces ricotta cheese – 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided use – 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning – salt and pepper to taste –1 egg – 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese – 3 cups marinara sauce divided use –2 tablespoons parsley chopped – cooking spray

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP-1

Warm the oven up to 375 degrees F. Spray cooking spray on a 9-by-13-inch baking pan.  

STEP-2

In the bottom of the pan, spread out 1 1/2 cups of the tomato sauce in a thin layer.  

STEP-3

A bowl should hold the ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese, egg, salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese. Use a stir to mix.  

STEP-4

Put the shells in the baking dish and fill each one with the ricotta mixture.Cover the shells with the rest of the tomato sauce. Then, add the last 1 1/2 cups of cheese on top.  

STEP-5

Put foil over the dish. Set the oven to 200°F. Take the lid off the pan and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese melts and starts to turn brown. Put some parsley on top, and then serve.
